A Fiat 600 hybrid at an incredible price

If you like the neo-retro look of the new Fiat 600 but are still wary of electric vehicles, this hybrid version should appeal to you.

new Fiat 600e electric, Stellantis is quietly presenting the hybrid cousin of the little Italian. This launch strategy strongly resembles that of the Peugeot E-3008. Essentially, they introduce the 100% electric version as a symbol of a zero-emission future, while keeping an electrified internal combustion version in reserve because they know not everyone is ready to take the leap.

A 1.2-liter three-cylinder ICE engine, producing 100 horsepower, is combined with a 21 kW small electric motor, integrated into the new 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. In this setup, the thermal engine does most of the work, while the small electric unit handles smooth maneuvers like parking or driving at less than 30 km/h, but never for more than one kilometer in all-electric mode. The advantage of this system is that the batteries recharge very quickly, allowing urban stop-and-go traffic in electric mode during the most polluting phases, like in traffic jams or at red lights.
