King Charles III arrives in France in a Bentley!

The British monarch is making his first official visit to France from September 20 to 22, 2023. For the occasion, his Bentley Royal State Limousine crossed the English Channel.

Built on a base of only two Bentley Arnage models, this royal limousine complies with very strict specifications. The vehicle must ensure the safety of the King of England, as it did with Queen Elizabeth II, and do so with absolute comfort.

Comfort and Security

A comfortable interior suited for precious attire is a top priority. To achieve this, Bentley relies on an extended chassis that increases its length to 6.22 meters, while the headliner has been greatly raised to accommodate royal tiaras. The gray Connolly leather is prevalent from floor to ceiling, along with the use of fine woods. The glass surface is enormous to allow visibility and to be seen during official parades.

Queen Elizabeth II’s Bentley

It should be noted that the Queen of England was a great enthusiast of beautiful cars, which she often drove herself. Jaguar, MG, Bentley, Rolls Royce, and of course her precious Range Rovers. As an anecdote, Elizabeth II did not hold a driving license! When licenses were introduced for everyone, she was already Queen of England and, as such, the only person in the United Kingdom authorized to grant these licenses. Like all limousines commissioned by Her Gracious Majesty, the Bentley has a two-tone color scheme of Bordeaux and black. Both vehicles were manufactured by Mulliner Coachworks, the marque’s and royal courtiers’ preferred coachbuilder.

Finally, beneath its aristocratic appearance, the car is fully armored and equipped against all kinds of threats. It withstands bullets, land/air missiles, and also chemical or bacteriological attacks.
