Renault Kardian Continues Its Unveiling

Before its official presentation on October 25, the Renault Kardian, a future compact urban SUV aimed at South American markets, reveals itself a little more.

Renault continues the teasing of the New Kardian SUV, marking the start of a product offensive outside Europe. Only? We don’t know yet because Renault keeps the doubt alive by stating “planned primarily for Latin America”. After all, if it’s a hit, why limit it to a single continent?

The interior view shows a sober and tidy cabin with an 8-inch multimedia screen. One can guess a reasonable and frugal approach to ensure an accessible price. The Kardian just allows a small touch of flair with ambient lighting. This lighting is notably diffused on the front door panels, enhancing the comfort of the driver and passengers.

Particularly distinctive, the front face of the New Kardian features the “Nouvel’R” logo positioned vertically on the grille, along with the new lighting signature of the range, strengthening its brand image.

With its increased ground clearance and roof bars, the New Kardian displays all the hallmarks of a modern and rugged SUV. Its compact silhouette (less than 4.15m) makes it very comfortable in an urban environment.

The roots of the name Kardian come from English. Indeed, at first listen, the name evokes the word “guardian,” symbolizing protection and robustness. This impression is reinforced by the presence of strong consonants: K, R, and D. But there is another strong evocation, as explained by Sylvia dos Santos, head of naming strategy for the Group: “What’s interesting with Renault Kardian is its suggestion of liveliness and agility. It refers to cardio: sport, dynamism, and adrenaline.”

Beyond these positive words, Renault Group likes to communicate with plenty of photos of cars in darkness. This helps maintain an element of mystery while revealing enough to spark interest. The unveiling is a subtle art. However, the photos leave little doubt about the lineage of the Renault Kardian with the Dacia Sandero. If you’re going to choose a model, might as well pick the best-selling one in Europe!

The new Renault Kardian will be presented worldwide in Rio, Brazil, on October 25.
