The Jeep Avenger Hybrid arrives in Europe

Jeep expands its Avenger lineup with an e-hybrid version equipped with a new 48V hybrid engine.
The new engine of the Avenger e-Hybrid allows for, in certain situations, driving in electric mode at low speeds thanks to the combination of the 6-speed e-DCS6 dual-clutch automatic transmission and its integrated electric motor. This mode is activated when driving in the city at speeds below 30 km/h, reaching up to 1 km of range in fully electric mode on urban and suburban roads if regular driving is maintained, or when the driver releases the accelerator pedal in stabilized conditions or downhill even on the highway, which helps to save fuel.

Under the hood, it features a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine with 100 horsepower, a 48-volt lithium-ion battery, and a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. This transmission houses a 21 kW electric motor, an inverter, and the central transmission unit.
The electric power enhances low-speed torque and ensures a quiet, responsive start for the driver, with smooth and quick transitions. Pure electric energy is also useful for the e-creeping function, allowing a series of short forward movements without pressing the accelerator, which is beneficial in situations such as traffic jams (e-queueing). The vehicle can also be parked in 100% electric mode (e-parking). Additionally, this technology allows for energy recovery during deceleration and offers the convenience of automatic recharging through regenerative braking, eliminating the need for plug-in charging.
New features are available with the new Avenger e-Hybrid, including an electric glass sunroof and leather upholstery with electric adjustments and massage function. Inside, the driver can choose between a 7-inch digital instrument cluster or a 10.25-inch version. A novelty, the Avenger e-Hybrid is equipped with steering wheel paddles that allow the driver to take control of the 6-speed DCT transmission in sequential mode.
Thanks to this new hybrid setup, Jeep announces a remarkable fuel consumption of just 5.1 l/100 km. This is especially important since the fuel tank is limited to 44 liters.
The Avenger e-Hybrid will be available for order from the end of November 2023.
