The MG MG3 priced at 15,000 euros is becoming clearer

Launched over 12 years ago worldwide, the MG3 is preparing to arrive in France with a hybrid powertrain.

If the MG Cyberster or the MG4 XPOWER can legitimately claim the British sports car heritage of MG, the brand now flying under the Chinese flag is experiencing a new life under the management of the Chinese automotive manufacturer SAIC Motor, based in Shanghai. One of its main offerings worldwide is the compact hatchback MG3, which has won over many buyers due to its affordability. It has previously overlooked France, but this will soon change with the new generation.

Recent photos of a prototype reveal a very refined interior, highlighting the attention given to the car’s quality. You can spot a double 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the inevitable wireless induction chargers, Android and Apple compatibility with phone mirroring, as well as an ambient lighting system that can evolve.

Under the hood, the MG3 will feature a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 107 hp and a 70 kW (94 hp) electric motor. MG’s well-mastered technology is smartly designed for this car, aimed at urban and peri-urban driving.

MG has not made any official announcements, but there is no longer any doubt about this model joining the lineup in 2024. If this new generation follows the path of the current MG3, which is offered in the UK for only £13,820, then we could see a modern, well-built hybrid arriving at just €15,000.
