Kona: the only Hyundai to retain the 2024 ecological bonus

According to our information, the Hyundai Kona will be the only model from the South Korean manufacturer eligible for the ecological bonus in 2024.

Hyundai had a good instinct. By deciding to produce its electric SUV Kona in Europe, at its Czech factory on the outskirts of Prague, the South Korean manufacturer was inspired. Not that France would threaten the commercial viability of the Kona on the Old Continent with its stricter ecological bonus policy. But rather that the trend is moving towards localized industrialization and that France will soon set the standard for all of Europe.

On the eve of the government’s announcement of the list of vehicles eligible for the ecological bonus in 2024 (Friday, December 15), Mobiwisy understood that the Kona will indeed be the only model to receive the bonus in 2024. Awaiting new products also manufactured in Europe.

For Hyundai, manufacturing in Europe also meets two needs: reducing CO2 emissions related to maritime freight from Asia, and decreasing delivery times. Launched in August 2023, the Czech production of the second-generation Kona aims for an annual volume of 50,000 units.

As a reminder, two configurations of the Hyundai Kona are available: small or large battery. Either 48.4 kWh (156 hp) or 65.4 kWh (217 hp), with real ranges from approximately 300 to 400 kilometers. In France, the Kona starts at €38,180 before the ecological bonus. That is €33,180, or even €30,680 if you are eligible for the conversion premium.
