Prediction: The Renault Scenic crowned Car of the Year 2024

Increasing clues suggest that the Renault Scenic electric will be the next Car of the Year in 2024.

First in the United Kingdom, then in Belgium, the Italy, the Luxembourg, and now Austria. We’re there. Five markets have already begun selling the new Renault Scenic electric. But France is still missing, despite being its primary market in theory…

So why is five markets an essential piece of information? Without fanfare, the Scenic checks boxes that make it eligible for the Car of the Year 2024 award. It is already secured a place in the Finals, the ultimate European round. But the competition will be tough.

To be elected, a car must be marketed in at least five of the 22 European markets before December 31, 2023. That’s already done!

The Renault Scenic then presents solid reasons. Reinvented as an electric version, with a bold design, cutting-edge embedded technology that rivals Tesla, and above all, highly aggressive pricing.

Moreover, the democratization of electric vehicles in Europe will depend on this ability to break the norms. From now on, it will no longer be claimed that an electric car is more expensive than an equivalent combustion engine. Priced below 40,000 euros in Belgium, the Renault will drop below 35,000 euros once the bonus is included.

Manufactured in France, embracing circular economy principles, the marketing argument is once again very strong, especially against some competitors originally from China. We are witnessing a European refocusing on this election, which can only be welcomed.

Finally, we can expect the lobbying efforts of the diamond-shaped brand to influence the final decision. The result will be announced around January 10, 2024. A little patience needed.
