Tesla Tempts Police to Help Sell Cybertruck

Elon Musk donned his best salesman’s suit to promote his Cybertruck to American law enforcement agencies.

It all started with a message posted on the X account (formerly Twitter) of the Rosenberg Police in Texas asking if it would be a good idea to adopt Tesla vehicles in their fleet: “What do you think, Elon Musk? Would the Cybertruck make a good police vehicle? It’s still difficult to find new vehicles to reconstitute our old police units. Should we make the change in 2024? ”, you can read.

The question is far from silly, and we had already asked it before: A Tesla Cybertruck for police. The Cybertruck has many features that would make it an excellent police vehicle. Its exoskeleton made of sturdy steel can reduce armor costs since the Cybertruck is already bullet-resistant right from the factory. Its speed is also remarkable, as it performs like a sports car. It is also hard to deny that the Cybertruck has a very intimidating presence.

The message from the Rosenberg police inevitably triggered its usual wave of mockery, which is sadly the fate of social media. Many comments suggested that Cybertrucks would quickly run out of battery during high-speed pursuits or catch fire before they even intervene. But overall, the response to the idea was generally quite positive. Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself took his best digital pen to reply to the police, stating that developing Tesla police units would be an excellent idea. Perhaps the Cybertruck has just found its best market?
