Finally, here is the Macan, Porsche’s first 100% electric SUV

Following the phenomenal Taycan, Porsche is launching its second 100% electric model, the new Macan equipped with performance worthy of a sports car.
Ten years after the launch of the Macan, Porsche presents the second generation of the model, in a 100% electric version.

The compact electric SUV is exclusively equipped with the latest generation of permanent magnet synchronous electric motors (PSM) on the front and rear axles. In combination with Launch Control, the Macan 4 develops up to 408 hp (300 kW) of power in overboost mode. The Macan Turbo, meanwhile, offers up to 639 hp (470 kW). The maximum torque is 650 Nm for the Macan 4 and 1,130 Nm for the Macan Turbo. These figures guarantee sporty performance: The Macan 4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, and the Macan Turbo in only 3.3 seconds. The Macan 4 has a top speed of 220 km/h, while the Macan Turbo reaches 260 km/h.

The electric motors are powered by a lithium-ion battery located under the floor, with a gross capacity of 100 kWh (95 kWh usable capacity). The high-voltage battery is a key component of the new platform with an 800 V architecture, called the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), used for the first time by Porsche in the new Macan. The battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes on a suitable fast charging station. On 400 V charging stations, a high-voltage switch (contact) inside the battery divides the recharge by splitting the 800 V battery into two batteries, each with a nominal voltage of 400 V. This process ensures particularly efficient parallel charging of both batteries up to 135 kW without additional high-voltage booster. AC charging is possible up to 11 kW on residential wall charging stations.

During driving, energy recovery from the electric motors is possible up to a power of 240 kW. The integrated power unit, called the Integrated Power Box (IPB), also contributes to the efficiency of the new Macan models while helping to reduce weight and space. The innovative and compact IPB combines three components: the onboard AC charger (alternating current), the high-voltage heating system, and the DC/DC converter (direct current). The maximum WLTP cycle range reaches 613 km for the Macan 4 and 591 km for the Macan Turbo.
