8 Years of Warranty, Unlimited Mileage, for this Hypercar’s Battery

Rimac offers an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty on the battery of its Nevera Hypercar. Even for cars already produced!

The number 8 seems to be quite appealing to Rimac. After offering 8 years of free charging to all Nevera owners, the manufacturer now provides 8 years of peace of mind regarding what may be the most sensitive component of their car, the battery. A fine display of confidence or complete recklessness?

The Nevera’s battery was designed according to an extremely strict and ambitious set of specifications in terms of weight and performance. Its H-shaped design, as opposed to a traditional flat skateboard layout, was chosen to allow driver and passenger to sit lower in the car, with no battery components under their seats. The Nevera is not just any car, with its 1,914 hp electric motor allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds and reach a top speed of 412 km/h. Its battery can only be considered exceptional. Rimac opted for a lithium-manganese-nickel architecture of 120 kWh, providing a WLTP range of 490 km and a charging capacity of 500 kW. This battery has met the challenge of delivering impressive performance over long distances while maintaining good resistance to discharge during intensive use.

To achieve this, a number of innovations help cool the pack, but perhaps the most important is the glycol-water cooling plates arranged in a sandwich configuration, which provide constant and effective cooling across all components.

Thanks to this innovative design and engineering, the Nevera has set 23 speed and performance records in a single day, requiring about 30 full-throttle accelerations in less than 8 hours, without any noticeable performance decline. It also holds the more unusual record for speed… in reverse!

The 8-year warranty covers all major defects of the battery. Rimac estimates that at the end of this period, the battery will still retain about 75% of its original charging capacity.
