It is the model through which the future of Alfa Romeo seems secured. Until now a “micro” manufacturer, with around 55,000 units sold annually, this iconic Italian automotive brand has bet everything on the Tonale to reach a new level of growth, but above all, profitability.

Alas, on an already saturated market, launching an affordable SUV so late—in March 2022—was a risky gamble. You need solid arguments to carve out a place in the sun. The task is all the more difficult when electric vehicles are seeing their prices plummet precisely at this time.

Compared to a high-performance Tesla Model Y, which is more richly equipped and less expensive (starting at 38,990 euros), one truly has to be passionate to choose an Alfa Romeo Tonale. But this is a situation applicable to all automotive players nowadays.

A Welcome Repositioning?

To breathe new life into the range, the available stock of Tonale models has been price-adjusted downward. While the official list price of the Italian SUV in March 2024 is 40,500 euros (not 38,200 euros as listed by the dealership), some models are now dropping to 35,590 euros.

That’s a reduction of 4,910 euros, which is good news for morale. At this price, you get a very satisfying model equipped with a 1.5-liter hybrid engine producing 130 horsepower, paired with the dual-clutch TCT automatic transmission.

With a CO2 emission level of 134g/km, the 2024 environmental penalty will be 450 euros, resulting in a final price of 36,040 euros.

To enhance everyday driving, the featured model optionally includes the Alfa Red color and rear parking radar.
