Modern Nostalgia with the Abarth Classiche 1300 OT

Abarth Classiche 1300 OT

A bit of Abarth, a lot of Alfa Romeo, and a dash of imagination to create a very limited series.

This special edition Abarth Classiche 1300 OT, part of the Stellantis Heritage « Reloaded by Creators » project, offers enthusiasts the opportunity to own a contemporary reinterpretation of an iconic car from the 1960s. In 1965, the Fiat Abarth OT 1300 stood out on race tracks thanks to its agility and power. At the time, it was a highly sporty modification of the Fiat 850. Characterized by a fiberglass body, lightweight and aerodynamic, and a distinctive « periscope », later added to refresh the interior, the OT 1300 symbolizes a golden age when Abarth shined in competition.

When Abarth Befriends Alfa

This 1300 OT is based on the Alfa Romeo 4C, which bid farewell in the early 2020s. There were a few shells left in Stellantis reserves, and since nothing should go to waste, why not make something nice out of them? The old-school styling of the base model provided an ideal foundation for this reinterpretation, featuring a technically modern structure with a mid-mounted engine and a carbon fiber chassis. The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT is limited to only five units.

To be completely honest, the profile of the car couldn’t displease us because that of the 4C is a success. The reinterpretation of the rear end is sublime, blending classic stylistic markers with aggressiveness. What a rear!!! A small downside, however, is the front end, which is far from convincing us. It’s a shame that the integration of the lights was rushed because there was much better to be done. But ultimately, our opinion doesn’t matter much because all five units are already sold at an undisclosed but probably high price, just like an Abarth!
