McLaren Ayrton Senna Sempre

This exclusive McLaren Senna with the Senna Sempre livery will be displayed in Monaco throughout the Grand Prix weekend.

McLaren celebrates the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s incredible legacy with a powerful and moving tribute that highlights his three Formula 1 World Championship titles and his five victories at the Monaco Grand Prix with the British team. The McLaren Senna, unveiled in December 2017, is the most extreme production car ever made by McLaren, designed and developed as the ultimate road-legal car.

The Senna Sempre livery was created as part of activities carried out by McLaren in partnership with the Ayrton Senna Foundation. Inspired by Ayrton Senna’s legacy and philosophy, the McLaren Senna bears both the name of the legendary driver and Formula 1 World Champion, and the “Double S” logo next to the McLaren badge. The Double S is also featured in the intricate patterns of the paintwork.

Magic Senna

The colors chosen for the Senna Sempre livery replicate the Brazilian flag, with bright yellow, green, and blue tones combined through an innovative washing technique. This method allows the paints to blend seamlessly without creating additional colors, evoking the speed and movement of a fluttering flag. This effect is also present in the McLaren badge on the nose of the car.

The green and white lines running around the windshield and the air intakes at the base of the windshield are directly inspired by the details of Ayrton Senna’s iconic racing helmet decor. On the panels covering the large air intakes on the sides of the car, paint experts created two distinct representations of Ayrton Senna. The hand-crafted, highly detailed effect comes to life from a distance, depicting him both on track and off.

Satin-finished, exposed carbon fiber panels adorn both the exterior and interior of the car, contrasting with the glossy paint finishes. Inside, they complement the customized yellow Alcantara upholstery with green perforations and the white 12-hour mark on the steering wheel. The door sills, covered in black Alcantara, bear Ayrton Senna’s signature and a quote explaining his ethics and philosophy: “I have no idols. I admire work, dedication, and skill”.
