The Audi Q4 e-tron drops to €550/month, but is it worth it?

Audi’s electric SUV makes a price effort of 6,500 euros to qualify for the ecological bonus, but what about its performance?

The ecological transition of car manufacturers is not a fanciful idea. They are, under pressure, compelled to pivot towards electric vehicles in order to reduce the average CO2 emissions of their lineup. Otherwise, the penalties amount to hundreds of millions of euros each year.

Therefore, it’s better to attract customers by offering very generous discounts rather than changing nothing and paying fines. Take, for instance, the Audi Q4 e-tron 45 Design Edition, which has a listed price of 53,500 euros. For the past few weeks, it has been discounted to 46,990 euros to qualify for the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros (since produced in Germany), bringing its final price down to 42,990 euros. That’s 10,000 euros below the initial price.

Nevertheless, it is still difficult to compete against a Tesla Model Y Propulsion, which is even cheaper (38,990 euros until March 21, 2024, before a price increase). Audi customers are also very inclined towards leasing rather than buying, leading to the establishment of a monthly offer presented here.

Thus, the Q4 e-tron 45 Design Edition benefits from a Long-Term Lease (LLD) of 37 months and 30,000 kilometers at a price of 550 euros per month. In practice, the first payment of 5,550 euros is reduced to 1,550 euros after deducting the 4,000 euros bonus, followed by 36 additional payments of 550 euros. In total, the leasing cost will amount to 21,350 euros.

Bonus point: maintenance is included, as well as a replacement vehicle and assistance.

Audi is making a genuine effort to make its Q4 e-tron 45 SUV relevant. Generously powerful, equipped with a good battery capable of ensuring 400 km of autonomy, and comfort features that meet standards, it is still quite expensive. However, we must not forget that Audi ensures a very high level of finish and presentation quality, which comes at a cost. Finally, at 550 euros/month, the lease is much cheaper than an equivalent thermal model like the Q5, for example… without the fuel refueling costs. And if it can help to avoid seeing only Tesla Model Y on the street, that’s not a bad thing either…
