Fiat Panda Hybrid at €5/day, a genuine fake gift from a friend?

At first glance affordable, Fiat’s offer at 5 euros per day for a dated Panda Hybrid is it really relevant?

Asking the question is already answering it. Because without being very good at math, multiplying 5 euros x 30 days implies a rent of 150 euros per month. Nowadays, for half that price, a much sexier and economical Fiat 500e offers the same conditions, but for 79 euros per month.

Fiat therefore offers a Long-Term Lease (LLD) for 49 months for a Panda Hybrid 1.0 BSG 70 hp (model year 2023) new. The only condition is based on stock availability. The duration is 4 years + 1 month, allowing up to 40,000 kilometers, or about 10,000 km per year.

No down payment or trade-in?

But beware of the trap: the model presented to attract attention is a Panda Cross Hybrid whose daily rate is 6 euros per day… that’s 180 euros per month. At this price, you could already enjoy an electric SUV two segments larger. But Fiat has managed to keep one final argument up its sleeve: no down payment and no trade-in conditions are required to take advantage of its offer.

This aspect is far from negligible for individuals who do not have the borrowing or savings capacity to often put down 3,000 euros or more as a first lease payment. Thus, at 150 euros/month, plus fuel, insurance, and maintenance, the Fiat Panda Hybrid is far from being affordable.

Over the course of 49 months, you will pay 7,350 euros when the catalog price is 13,600 euros. This is about 50% of the new price of the Panda. What you would have lost on simple depreciation of the car over the same period. Be careful, every additional kilometer will cost you 0.04 €.
