Audi sets a new record
And a new benchmark time that falls into the hands of Audi Sport in the compact car segment.
The German driver Frank Stippler set a new lap record at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with the pre-production model of the New Audi RS 3. The racing and development driver for Audi Sport achieved a time of 7’33″123 minutes, beating the record in this category by more than five seconds.

The driving dynamics of the vehicle rely on the interaction between the torque splitter, which ensures fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels, electronic stability control, wheel-based torque control (braking torque vectoring), and the optional adaptive dampers of the RS sports suspension. The modular vehicle dynamics controller now connects data from all relevant components for lateral dynamics with even greater sensitivity thanks to an improved algorithm.
Power is still provided by a five-cylinder engine with 400 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Paired with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires, a 19″ ceramic braking system, RS sports suspension with adaptive damper control, and an optimized chassis setup, the 2.5 TFSI engine now propels the Audi RS 3 with even more enthusiasm in corners. All highlighted by its distinctive deep roar, thanks to its characteristic ignition sequence 1-2-4-5-3.
The New Audi RS 3 will be available for order in early September and will be showcased at dealerships starting in October.
