Fiat 600: the big clearance sale has begun

The compact SUV from FIAT, the quite cute 600, struggles to find its customer base. Hence the idea of huge discounts at dealerships.

Electric, thermal, hybrid… No matter which Fiat 600 we’re talking about, we hardly see any on the road, but rather in dealerships. What’s the problem with this supposedly simple Peugeot 2008 (as well as Opel Moka, Jeep Avenger, etc.) re-bodied with a super cool design?

Lack of notoriety? Arrival in an already saturated and declining market? Increased competition from new Chinese players? Persistent image of Italian reliability? There are multiple reasons.

But the issue seems taboo at Fiat, where the “official” discounts come and go on the brand’s website. They seem to be trying everything, apparently in vain. But in the dealership, things are quite different.

Phantom registrations

To support the production of the Fiat factory, dealers are encouraged to register the already delivered units. Sadly, for some, they have been sitting in parking lots for months, particularly the electric versions.

Thus, we find Fiat 600 models showing virtual discounts of up to -28%. In reality, it’s important to remember that the ecological bonus is already included and paid to the dealer. Still, you can get over 6000 euros off a vehicle with 0 kilometers on the clock, even without negotiating.

With a little persuasion, the warranty can be extended for free, which is the least one can do to make room in the dealership’s parking lot.

Because beyond this disaffection, the Fiat 600, let’s say it again, is an excellent car whose entire engineering is a product of the Stellantis group. Now it’s up to you to take advantage of it.
