Peugeot slashes the price of the E-308 electric!
Only a few months after the launch of an entry-level version E-Style, Peugeot is slashing the prices of the E-308.
The Peugeot E-308 is one of those models for which we are still searching for the biggest flaws… except for the price, of course. Since its launch, the electric lion has been recognized as an excellent car, but it was priced totally out of reach, preventing it from competing on equal terms with Teslas. And what about low-cost UFOs like the MG4? Peugeot hasn’t given up on its compact and announced in May an entry-level trim intended to realign it on reasonable pricing. Named E-Style, it features, like the other trims, the only available drivetrain, a powertrain of 156 hp (115 kW) and a 54 kWh battery.
The price is, of course, the key to success for an entry-level version, but at 41,230 euros, or 37,230 euros after deducting a 4,000 euro ecological bonus, it felt a bit short. Even though we love French products, live in France, and consume French, how can one decide to buy French when facing a Tesla Model Y at 36,990 euros? It was a nice effort, but there certainly isn’t that little wow factor that a version priced under 35,000 euros could have generated. It’s a shame because this E-Style has everything one could want with its beautiful 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-zone air conditioning, heat pump, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, two beautiful 10-inch screens, and LED lights at both ends. With a range of 450 km and the ability to charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes at a 100 kW station, it falls within the norm—neither better nor worse. This pretty much sums up this model: Good, but not great.
Finally, a frank reaction from Peugeot!
So Peugeot has taken the lion by the mane and decided to give the E-308 one last chance by further reducing its price. Until September 30, 2024, one can order a Peugeot E-308 E-Style starting from 35,100 euros after the ecological bonus. Or even 33,600 euros if you are eligible for the conversion bonus. Regardless, Peugeot refuses to drop below the symbolic barrier of 35,000 euros, but this price finally encourages reflection.

With the in-house warranty of 8 years/160,000 km Peugeot Allure Care and the assurance of one of the most effective networks in France, this E-308 becomes a reasonable and intelligent purchase. There’s no need to play on the sentimental strings of Made in France and loyalty to Peugeot because in the end, people buy when they feel they are getting their money’s worth. And at this price, no need for the blah blah to understand that one can be satisfied with buying French.
