Skoda and its great budget offer on “almost new” Enyaq

Just when you think you’ve seen it all in terms of exclusive offers and must-not-miss promotions, Skoda surprises us!

Honestly, Skoda’s idea is brilliant. Why bother presenting a “recent certified low-mileage used car with manufacturer warranty” when you can simply say it’s “an almost new car”? No manufacturer has ever approached us with such a presentation for a financing offer, and we love it.

To be completely transparent, we stumbled upon this offer just a few minutes after finishing an article praising discounted demonstration vehicles at Tesla. The principle is exactly the same. You take a very recent car with low mileage and lower its price. At this point, it’s practically a new car, but it’s much cheaper.

Skoda Master of Words

Skoda cites as an example an Enyaq iV 80 from November 2023 with 10,000 km, priced at 39,990 euros. This model was replaced at the beginning of the year by the Enyaq iV 85, which has slightly increased range and a few minor updates. Essentially, it’s the same vehicle except the new model starts at 53,570 euros. Nearly 14,000 euros just to benefit from the new model year—let’s be honest, that’s a lot. This is the whole point of recent used cars.

Thus, Skoda is able to offer the Enyaq in Long-Term Rental for 24 months with a maximum of 20,000 km. This type of offer is usually reserved for new vehicles. The first increased rent of 5,250 euros is followed by 23 rents of 397 euros/month. Unless you are a negotiating king or the dealer’s son, and even that might not be enough, don’t expect to get such an offer on a new model.
