Welcome aboard the new Renault 5 electric
Bringing an icon back to life is always a challenge. In the case of the Renault 5, how to ensure that what was liked will still be appealing?
With the Renault 5 E-Tech electric, the French brand worked, in its own words, in a “reverse process,” which involved adapting an existing electric platform to a design that was already almost set, as it reprises the codes of a model launched 52 years ago!

Outside, you can clearly see the features that made the original model successful, which the older generation knows well and the younger generation is discovering. Everyone can make it almost unique thanks to the many customization options available. Like its ancestor, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric aims to be economical both to buy and to use, but above all, enjoyable to drive and easy to use on a daily basis.

It’s hard to imagine a Renault 5 being produced anywhere other than France. Renault has chosen to produce the compact car in a short supply chain, at the heart of its ElectriCity industrial hub in northern France, with a compact ecosystem of suppliers located within a 300 km radius. Each vehicle, along with the batteries, is assembled at the Douai Manufacturing facility, one of the original production sites of the Renault 5, with an electric powertrain manufactured in Cléon and modules produced in the Douai Gigafactory starting from the summer of 2025. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric will achieve at least 88.6% overall recyclability and will incorporate 19.4% recycled materials and 26.4% materials from the circular economy.

In the end, the customer will look at the final quote, and the new Renault 5 had to remain accessible to the greatest number. For this, an entry-level version with a small 40 kWh battery will soon enrich the overall offer with a starting price of around 25,000 euros.
