Peugeot E-3008 Long Range Eligible for Ecological Bonus!
It’s clear that Peugeot has put in significant effort to position the model just below the critical threshold of 47,000 Euros, and they’ve succeeded.
As of today, Peugeot opens orders for the long-range variants of its E-3008 and E-5008 SUVs. These two models, thanks to their “made in France” batteries, offer 700 and 668 km of range, respectively, in the WLTP mixed cycle.
While range is an excellent selling point, price remains the priority for most customers. Designed and developed in France, the two cousins are assembled at the Sochaux factory and receive a battery produced at the ACC gigafactory in Douvrin, showcasing the manufacturer’s genuine intention to offer a 100% French alternative to market leaders, whether they are European, American, or Chinese.
Thus, both models are logically eligible for the ecological bonus of 4,000 Euros, but they had to be priced under the regulatory threshold of 47,000 Euros. Only the E-3008 230 Long Range in ALLURE trim manages to achieve this with a customer price of 46,990 euros, which thus drops to 42,990 euros after governmental pricing adjustments. A price almost identical to the Tesla Model Y with superior range? Well done, Peugeot!
Peugeot has no reason to fear Tesla
Despite the objections of the most fervent Tesla fans, the French carmaker not only offers record range but also quite respectable charging times. The E-3008 accepts a maximum power of 160 kW on superchargers, allowing it to go from 20% to 80% charge in 27 minutes, recovering 150 km of range in just 10 minutes. Moreover, the E-3008 and E-5008 Long Range benefit from the new battery pre-conditioning system (pre-heating), which helps optimize charging times.
While we can be critical of Peugeot when the manufacturer offers a vehicle that doesn’t meet expectations, such as the new electric E-408, we are happy to acknowledge such a model at its rightful and great value!
