Xiaomi Will Approve Its 1,500-Horsepower Supercar!

Against all expectations, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra that just broke the Nürburgring record will indeed have a civilian version.

There is no room for half-measures when it comes to a car like the Xiaomi SI7 Ultra. You can believe the manufacturer when it claims that it is “the fastest four-door production car on the planet”.

With a total electric power of 1,138 kW or 1,526 horsepower delivered by three motors, one at the front, two at the rear, it’s a car of superlatives. Thanks to a monstrous torque of 1770 Nm, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds before reaching a top speed of 350 km/h. But it’s not just a dragster or a car meant to break down after a few high-speed laps; its battery supplied by CATL offers a range of over 500 km, at reasonable speeds, of course. For fast charging, this high-tech battery only needs 11 minutes to go from 10% to 80% charge.

The most surprising thing about this car may be its look, completely disconnected from its performance. Of course, it features a 1,560 mm wide carbon fiber rear wing and all the necessary aerodynamics elements like spoilers and fins, but the overall design is almost tame. One might even think that Xiaomi had to resort to a bright yellow paint job with sporty stripes to make it look more aggressive!

Eventually, when announcing over 300 km/h, more than 1,500 horsepower, and a Nürburgring record, you might expect the price to be steep. Well, it’s not. Xiaomi offers this asphalt-devouring machine at 815,000 Yuan, or about 106,000 euros. Of course, it’s a high price, but we’re talking about a vehicle in the same league as the latest models from Rimac, Bugatti, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, which trade hands for millions of euros. And the Xiaomi can take kids to school, carry family and luggage on vacation, and circulate in low-emission zones before going to wipe the floor with anything with a license plate on the track. In this respect, serious consideration should be given to the issue of free movement for such types of cars…
