The Dacia Duster has already been Car of the Year twice!

Behind Dacia’s Low Cost image, people often forget that the Duster is a genuine off-road vehicle designed and built to face the worst situations.

The Dacia Duster makes history as the first car to win the 4×4 of the Year award twice, awarded by our colleagues at Overlander 4×4. This year, its off-road skills, robustness, and unbeatable value for money—according to Dacia’s proven formula—allowed the Duster to lead in the Best Small SUV and Best Economical SUV categories.

With a 4×4 transmission available in the Expression, Journey, and Extreme trim levels, and prices starting with this technology from 26,700 euros in the TCe 130 engine, it’s easy to understand why the Duster won the Best Economical SUV award. This category is reserved for vehicles with a starting price under 30,000 euros, but the Duster can easily be upgraded well before reaching that limit.

The Duster’s off-road capabilities are improved compared to the previous iteration, not only thanks to a more robust design with generous approach angles but also through some of the latest technologies, including hill descent control and Terrain Control 4×4 transmission, which features five driving modes: automatic, snow, mud/sand, and eco.

Let us recall that the Duster remains in the running for the prestigious 2025 Car of the Year award. A complete, well-equipped, and high-performing model at an affordable price ticks all the boxes in a period where quality/price ratio greatly outweighs appearance or performance.
