The Incredible Diesel Electric Car of Shaquille O’Neal!

Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal indulged himself with a one-of-a-kind two-door Lucid Air coupe capable of accommodating his size.

When someone like Shaq, who measures 2.16 meters, or 41 cm taller than the average person, gets into a car, it often becomes a challenge. Earlier this year, we introduced you to his Cybertruck, a hefty pickup suited for a big driver, but when you really love cars as he does, being close to the ground is a must. That’s precisely why the legendary center bought himself a unique Lucid Air, transformed into a two-door coupe.

The star revealed photos of his custom jewel on Instagram. This one-of-a-kind model is the work of West Coast Customs, based in Burbank, California. They have become known for extraordinary projects, such as transforming a Porsche Cayenne into a minivan for Priscilla Chan, Mark Zuckerberg’s wife.

Typically offered only as a four-door sedan, Shaq’s Lucid Air appears to have rolled straight off the production line of Lucid Motors. West Coast Customs opted for a subtle yet effective approach: the front doors were replaced with larger versions, while the rear doors were simply removed. The center pillar was relocated toward the back to maintain balance. These major modifications do not detract from the original elegance of the car—in fact, they enhance it.

For now, no images of the renovated interior have been released. Nevertheless, one can imagine the front seats may have gained space, while the rear bench, if still present, must be quite narrow. Among other custom details, the Lucid badge was replaced with the inscription “Diesel,” a nickname Shaq has proudly used for decades. A rather ironic or provocative choice, considering it’s a 100% electric car. The wheels, meanwhile, feature the Superman logo, another nod to the icon.

It is unknown which Lucid Air model was used as the base, but given Shaq’s penchant for high-end vehicles, it might be the Sapphire version. This powerhouse sedan boasts a four-motor powertrain producing 1,284 horsepower, a range of 687 km, and an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.89 seconds. With a top speed of 330 km/h, this version, starting at $249,000, would make any electric car enthusiast dream. Of course, with the modifications by West Coast Customs, the price must be considerably higher.

Shaq once again proves that there are no limits when it comes to combining comfort and style—even when you’re over two meters tall. And with the “Diesel” logo proudly displayed on a car that runs without a single drop of fossil fuel, the former basketball star shows he’s not finished surprising us!
