KIA EV6 GT Model 2025, an anonymous supercar?

The South Korean manufacturer delivers a significant technical, aesthetic, and sporty update to its large electric sedan, the EV6.

Always beware of appearances. Behind its size of a Normandy wardrobe, the KIA EV6 GT tries to hide performance figures that would make a thermal supercar jealous. Thanks to the magic of electricity, the acceleration will rattle your organs—judge for yourself.

Indeed, the thorough update that the KIA EV6, a model launched in 2022, has undergone in early 2025 is not insignificant. Let’s start with parameter number 1: the battery. Its chemistry has evolved, and its net capacity has increased from 77.4 to 84 kWh for a real-world range of 450 km in mixed cycle. Not mind-blowing, but relative to the XXL size of the vehicle, it’s far from embarrassing.

Virtual Gear Shift in series?

Next, power jumps from 585 to 650 horsepower, with a monstrous torque of 770 Nm. Thanks to the integration of a new Launch Control and all-wheel drive, 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is achieved in 3.5 seconds. If you don’t activate the GT mode, easily accessible from the steering wheel, then the power drops… to 609 horsepower. That’s enough to take the kids to school. As for the top speed, reached in the blink of an eye, it is now set at 260 km/h.

Similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, the EV6 GT 2025 also introduces the concept of Virtual Gear Shift, meaning manual gear changes with a “rupteur” function if the driver doesn’t request a higher speed. All of this is coupled with an audio system that recreates (electronically) the sound of a thermal engine. In reality, it’s very cool and surprisingly effective. Steering, suspension, braking—all on this GT version—is designed to improve the “road feel.”

Super fast recharging too?

Since its debut, the EV6 has distinguished itself with an 800-volt electric architecture. This allows for very high charging powers, close to 250 kW. Thus, a recharge from 10% to 80% of the battery now only takes 18 minutes. And then you’re back on the highway for 300 km without any issues. Finally, this new model is compatible with Tesla’s Supercharger network. A real win!

Let’s finish the overview with a redesign of the interior, including new suede bucket seats and a redesigned steering wheel. Changes have also been made to the dashboard pattern and the dual 12.3-inch screens.

Regarding prices, a little more patience before they are set in France. But you can already buckle up—since the previous version was already priced close to 75,000 euros. But considering its performance and in the absence of an eco-tax that crushes its thermal counterparts, this KIA isn’t that expensive…
