Toyota debuts in Europe with its new 100% electric SUV, the Urban Cruiser, at the Brussels Auto Show.
This tall Toyota, a worthy cousin of the RAV4, will need to flex its muscles to compete in one of the most competitive segments of the European market, that of urban electric SUVs. It will be offered with two battery options and versions with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Its front face, inspired by the characteristic « Hammerhead » shape of the latest Toyota models, and its rear lights spanning the entire width of the tailgate, highlight its identity as a city SUV.

With slightly larger dimensions than the Yaris Cross, the Urban Cruiser remains maneuverable thanks to a turning radius reduced to 5.2 meters. Its wheelbase of 2,700 mm offers spacious interior comfort, enhanced by rear seats that slide to adjust the interior space as needed. Inside, you will find a horizontal dashboard and an elevated driving position for good visibility. Customizable lighting with 12 different shades enhances the ambiance.
A Common Native Electric Platform for Toyota and Suzuki
Built on the same battery electric vehicle platform as the new Suzuki E Vitara, the Urban Cruiser offers two battery capacities: 49 and 61 kWh. These batteries use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, known for its durability and reduced cost.

Front-wheel drive versions feature motors of 106 or 128 kW depending on the battery. An all-wheel drive version, with a total power of 135 kW, is also available, equipped with an additional motor on the rear axle and features dedicated to off-road driving.
All versions of the Urban Cruiser include active safety systems such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance. The digital interface consists of a 10.25-inch display and a 10.1-inch multimedia screen, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher-end models add features like a 360° camera, JBL audio system, and a panoramic roof.
