Confirmed Arrival Date for the New Tesla Model X and S!

Tesla pushes back delivery times for the Model S and X in Europe, effectively confirming the facelift of these two premium models.

Tesla has recently updated the delivery times for the Model S and Model X on its European websites, pushing them back to 4-5 months from just four weeks previously. Now expected for July or August 2025, this update confirms rumors swirling around an imminent refresh of these two iconic models.

This scenario recalls strategies already observed at Tesla. In 2023, extended delays for the Model 3 preceded the introduction of the updated version as part of the Highland project. Similarly, the Model Y experienced a comparable wait before the announcement of its redesign within the Juniper project. In 2020, a similar delay preceded the latest refresh of the Model S and X.

The change in delays in Europe is not insignificant. Manufactured solely at the Fremont plant, these cars require special logistical preparation. Tesla must not only adapt its production lines to incorporate upcoming changes but also account for additional delays related to maritime transport and distribution across the continent.

A real gamble

Lars Moravy, Tesla’s Vice President of Engineering, recently suggested that an update for the Model S and X could be announced before the end of 2025. While Tesla remains discreet on the details, expectations are focused on significant improvements. These would include innovations inspired by recent refreshes of the Model 3 and Model Y, featuring redesigned materials and technologies, advances in efficiency and range thanks to new batteries, and subtle exterior design tweaks.

These elements confirm that Tesla is preparing a new era for its two flagship models. Honestly, it’s a bit surprising because we imagined these two low-selling models sacrificed on the altar of autonomous driving, but with Tesla, nothing is ever certain.
