One Pedal, Alpine Finish: The Renault Mégane E-Tech 2025 Impresses

On March 12, 2025, Renault unveils an update to its Mégane E-Tech lineup, notably offering improved energy management.

Renault strengthens its electric vehicle offering with a new Mégane E-Tech Electric range, which includes an Esprit Alpine version, advanced technological upgrades, and innovative charging solutions. This 100% electric sedan, assembled in France at the Douai ElectriCity Plant, is now available for order.

Already appreciated for its agility and dynamism, the Mégane E-Tech Electric asserts itself further with the Esprit Alpine finish, positioned between the Techno and Iconic versions.

It should be noted that Renault is currently focusing on the maximum power versions of 220 horsepower. There is no mention of the 130-horsepower motor, which is well-liked. It’s likely that this will be addressed in a separate announcement soon, with a slight increase in power and range, potentially exceeding 500 km with the EV60 battery, up from 480 km. What about the more affordable EV40 version?

Finally, all the prices listed here, though “generous” compared to competitors like Tesla, do not include bonuses or potential discounts (which are almost systematic). Let’s also remember that this Mégane is produced in France, contributing to the local industrial network and employment.

A bold exterior design

Inspired by Alpine’s DNA, this version features several exclusive elements:

An exclusive Satin Flint Gray color
Satin Flint Gray front and rear louvers
Glossy black 20-inch Speedway alloy wheels
An Ice Black tinted diamond badge, with the rear monogram in the same finish
A glossy black decoration surrounding the side windows
An Esprit Alpine badge placed on the front left wing

A decidedly sporty interior

The interior ambiance continues with high-end finishes:

Contoured seats in black embossed textile, inspired by running shoes, with blue stitching and made from recycled fibers
A tricolor crest, symbolizing the partnership between Alpine and Renault
A dashboard, armrests, and a central console in black TEP, highlighted with blue stitching
A cockpit dressed with a black and blue gradient décor

This version further enhances the dynamic character of the Mégane E-Tech Electric, which combines the compactness of a sedan with the agility of a sports car, thanks to a sharpened chassis and a low center of gravity.

One Pedal: a smoother driving experience and better energy recovery

Renault further improves the driving experience with the integration of the One Pedal function on versions equipped with steering wheel-mounted regenerative braking paddles. This fifth level of regeneration allows controlling acceleration and braking with a single pedal, offering several advantages:

Reduced brake pad wear
Enhanced range thanks to more efficient energy recovery
Smoother driving, especially in city driving

This technology, developed by Ampere, will also be deployed on the R5, Scénic E-Tech Electric, and the upcoming R4, and can be retrofitted to Mégane E-Tech Electric models produced after March 2024.

An 11 kW bidirectional charger as standard and an innovative V2G

The entire lineup now includes a standard AC 11 kW bidirectional charger, with an optional AC 22 kW available from the model launch.

Thanks to V2L (vehicle-to-load) bidirectional charging and the Power to Object adapter, the Mégane E-Tech Electric can power external electrical devices such as a coffee machine, a laptop, or an electric scooter.

But that’s not all: with V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology, it becomes an intelligent energy source for the power grid. Paired with the Mobilize Powerbox Verso and a Mobilize electricity contract, it allows re-injecting stored energy into the grid to optimize home electricity costs.

Optimized charging with Mobilize Power

This service is based on four key elements:

A standard AC 11 kW bidirectional charger now available on all trims
A Mobilize Powerbox Verso charging station, developed with Software République
A Mobilize electricity contract, providing carbon-neutral electricity and optimized charging
The My Renault app, allowing you to schedule bidirectional charging based on your travel needs

Thus, the Mégane E-Tech Electric contributes to balancing the electrical grid while reducing users’ energy bills.

Plug & Charge: simplified fast charging on DC stations

For even greater convenience, the Mégane E-Tech Electric is compatible with Plug & Charge, an integrated service with Mobilize Charge Pass that simplifies fast charging on DC stations.

No more badges or payment cards: as soon as the car is plugged in, the station automatically recognizes the vehicle and begins charging.
Automated billing: the energy consumed is directly linked to the My Renault account.

With over 800,000 public charging points across 25 European countries, Mobilize Charge Pass also offers preferential rates for rapid charging.

New range and attractive prices

The Mégane E-Tech Electric lineup is now available in three trim levels:

Techno
Esprit Alpine
Iconic

All are equipped with the 220 hp motor and the large-range EV60 battery, allowing up to 468 km (WLTP). This value remains unchanged from the previous version.

In France, it is offered from €270/month or €35,500, with a €4,000 eco bonus deducted (excluding an additional CEE prime of €310 for private buyers).
