Meet in Shanghai, China from March 21 to 23, 2025, for the second round of the 2025 F1 season.

One week after the launch of the 2025 season in Melbourne, F1 heads to Shanghai for the Chinese Grand Prix, the second round of the championship and the first Asian stop of the year. This 18th edition marks the second consecutive year with two races scheduled during the weekend. Indeed, the first of the six Sprint races of the season will take place on this iconic circuit.

Abandoned from the calendar for five years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and strict restrictions in China, the GP made its return in 2024, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of its first edition. The Shanghai track, 5.451 kilometers long and inaugurated in 2004, is renowned for its technical features: the complex of the first three spiral-shaped turns reminiscent of the “shang” symbol, the 1.2-kilometer straight line, and turns 12 and 13 characterized by banking acceleration.

For 2025, two DRS zones are maintained: one on the start-finish straight and the other on the long back straight. Shanghai is also synonymous with dominance for Lewis Hamilton, nicknamed the “Emperor of China” thanks to his six wins, including the victory at the 1000th Grand Prix in F1 history. Among still-active drivers, only Fernando Alonso (2005, 2013) and Max Verstappen (2024) have their names on the GP’s record.

This weekend, a double dose of entertainment in Shanghai with two races. Don’t forget to set your alarms!
