Max Verstappen baptizes the new electric Honda!

The Honda 0 SUV prototype made a notable public appearance during a Red Bull event with Max Verstappen behind the wheel.

The prototype of the Honda 0 SUV made its worldwide public debut this Wednesday, April 2nd, in Tokyo, alongside the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix, during the Red Bull Showrun. The event was marked by the presence of four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen, who took the wheel of this fully electric SUV co-piloted by his new teammate, Yuki Tsunoda. Initially unveiled at CES 2025, this model is part of the Honda 0 series and will be produced starting in 2026 in Ohio.

This on-road demonstration celebrated the six-year partnership between Honda and Red Bull Racing, a successful collaboration with over 63 F1 victories, four consecutive titles for Max Verstappen (2021-2024), and two constructors’ championships (2022-2023). Alongside the Dutch driver, Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson, and Isack Hadjar also participated in the event.

Honda’s Risky Bet

The Honda 0 SUV, dressed in a special camouflage livery with geometric lines reflecting light, embodies Honda’s new philosophy for its electric vehicles: “Thin, Light, and Wise.” It was presented alongside Red Bull Racing Honda Formula 1 cars, including the RB16B and RB7 sporting the new 2025 Racing Bulls livery. Another legend was also present: the Honda RA272, the first car from a Japanese manufacturer to win a Grand Prix in 1965 in Mexico.

This SUV will be the first model in Honda’s 0 lineup to be mass-produced. Inspired by the Space-Hub concept unveiled at CES 2024, it emphasizes a spacious interior, optimal visibility, and increased flexibility. It will also feature the ASIMO OS, an optimized system for an ultra-personalized digital user experience. After its North American launch in 2026, it will gradually be introduced to other markets, including Japan and Europe.
