Kia and LG envision the perfect vehicle for work and leisure

Kia and LG Electronics partner to transform vehicles into versatile spaces using Kia’s PBV platform.

On the occasion of the Seoul Mobility Show 2025, the two Korean brands Kia and LG unveiled two new concepts:

• PV5 Spielraum Studio: designed for nomadic entrepreneurs, this mobile office integrates intelligent equipment from LG, such as connected mirrors, coffee machines, and modular wardrobes. Its AI adjusts lighting and temperature based on the user’s schedule and remaining time until arrival.
• PV5 Spielraum Glow: created for car-picnic enthusiasts, this concept features a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a wine cellar, all dressed with MoodUP panels that change color according to the desired ambiance.

The agreement, signed during the show between Won-Jeong Jeong, Kia’s Executive Vice President, and Lyu Jae-cheol, President of LG Home Appliance, formalizes this collaboration. The goal is to integrate LG’s AI solutions and home appliances into Kia’s PBVs to offer a personalized experience.

“By combining mobility and intelligent home equipment, we aim to revolutionize users’ daily lives,” declared Won-Jeong Jeong. Kia and LG are betting on vehicles capable of adapting to individual work and leisure needs.

The launch of the first models is scheduled for the second half of 2026. Until then, both companies plan to continue their collaboration to develop even more advanced technologies, simplifying users’ everyday lives.

With this alliance, Kia and LG aim to make vehicles much more than just transportation, turning them into true living spaces on wheels. This trend is not new and harks back to the golden days of the Volkswagen Kombi or the Renault Espace. Vehicles designed to be accessible and practical. Mobile living spaces—a concept that has always had and will continue to have a future.
