Here is the new Citroën C5 Aircross

Citroën has unveiled the second generation of the C5 Aircross, a model built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform.

The versatile large SUV from Citroën benefits from significant improvements in design, interior space, comfort, and powertrain options. It will be launched in the second half of 2025 across major European markets.

Thanks to the capabilities offered by the STLA Medium platform, the C5 Aircross adopts generous dimensions: 4,652 mm long (+150 mm) and 1,902 mm wide. The wheelbase, extended to 2,784 mm (+60 mm), maximizes rear passenger legroom, reaching a level comparable to that of the C5 X, a well-regarded reference for interior space.

The exterior design features 740 mm diameter wheels (+20 mm), a first for Citroën, and modular rims up to 20 inches. These elements enhance the vehicle’s presence while optimizing aerodynamic efficiency and brake cooling through vented parts. The silhouette is accented with customizable color clips in gold or glossy black located on the front doors and the front, creating contrast with the horizontal grille elements and the side skirts.

The interior stands out with a spacious and comfortable cabin, featuring a trunk volume that remains consistent regardless of powertrain. It is equipped with modern technologies, such as an ergonomic central touchscreen, an extended head-up display, and Advanced Comfort seats, creating a welcoming and functional atmosphere.

The Wide Range of Powertrains

Nope, nothing pejorative here, just noting that the diverse lineup of the C5 Aircross illustrates Citroën’s multi-energy strategy. The 48V Hybrid model, Hybrid 145 Automatic, serves as an entry point to electrification, offering over 950 km of mixed-cycle WLTP range and up to 50% of urban trips in electric mode. With about 15% lower fuel consumption compared to a conventional petrol engine, it combines a 136 hp internal combustion engine with an integrated electric motor in an eDCS6 automatic transmission.

The Plug-in Hybrid 195 Automatic model enhances performance with electric range up to 100 km in urban areas and an enlarged tank of 55 liters, for a total range of 650 km. It pairs a 150 hp thermal engine with a 125 hp electric motor, delivering a combined 195 hp and several adaptive driving modes.

Finally, the 100% electric ë-C5 Aircross offers two powertrain options. A balanced 210 hp version provides 520 km of range, while the long-distance 230 hp version can reach up to 680 km thanks to a 97 kWh battery. With competitive charging times and advanced features like regenerative braking and EV trip planning, the ë-C5 Aircross is an ideal choice for zero-emission mobility.

The new C5 Aircross, designed and manufactured in France, showcases Citroën’s ‘Made in France’ craftsmanship. Using recycled and bio-sourced materials, it embodies a sustainable commitment while delivering top-level performance and comfort in its segment.
