Mercedes makes a big effort on the launch price of the CLA

Mercedes officially launches the new CLA with three key principles: cutting-edge technology, record-breaking efficiency, and reasonable pricing.

In a context where Tesla’s image is wavering, choosing a Mercedes goes beyond a purchase—it’s an act of resistance and a statement of good taste. Under the star emblem, the new Mercedes CLA redefines standards and establishes itself as a compelling alternative to the Tesla Model 3. But it was also necessary to compete with the American champion in terms of pricing. It’s almost achieved with a limited launch edition starting at 52,900 euros.

The CLA, priced about 10,000 euros above the Model 3, justifies its premium by offering a superior package. Its 85 kWh battery, coupled with an 800V architecture, promises up to 792 km of range according to WLTP cycles, surpassing its rival’s 530 km. On the charging side, Mercedes strikes hard: the CLA recovers 10 to 80% in just 22 minutes thanks to ultra-fast charging at 320 kW. Result: 320 km in 10 minutes. Even Tesla’s colossal Cybertruck struggles to compete.

Advanced aerodynamics for greater range

Available in rear-wheel drive (268 hp) and all-wheel drive (349 hp), the CLA optimizes its range through a disconnectable front motor, reducing energy losses by 90%. Add to that an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.21 and advanced energy recovery technologies for remarkable efficiency.

The interior, a true technological showcase, exceeds current standards. Three interactive screens and a state-of-the-art MB.OS system provide a seamless user experience. Compatible with OTA updates, the virtual assistant MBUX, powered by ChatGPT and Google Gemini, ensures natural and intuitive interactions. Next to it, the Model 3’s screen seems outdated, like a hastily placed tablet.

Also offered with a smaller battery and soon in hybrid version, the CLA adapts to all needs. Driving a Mercedes is no longer limited to a premium experience but reflects a bold and distinctive vision of mobility. A revolution that few could have anticipated a year ago.
