New BMW R 1300 R: Long Live the Boxer!

The sporty road bike with BMW’s boxer engine returns with refined technology and design.

The new BMW R 1300 RS, available in France from €17,450, redefines the concept of a sports touring motorcycle with a redesigned boxer engine and optimized ergonomics. Designed to deliver an even more dynamic riding experience, it combines sportiness and comfort, meeting the expectations of motorcyclists for both short trips and long-distance journeys. First deliveries are scheduled for July 2025.

Powered by a 1,300 cc engine, the R 1300 RS produces 145 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This power is complemented by improved handling thanks to a new steel frame, an aluminum swingarm, and an inverted fork. An innovative feature, the Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), automatically adjusts the spring stiffness based on riding conditions.

The Queen of Touring

Its design reflects a balance between sportiness and functionality. The forward-leaning riding position enhances control during sporty riding while maintaining comfort for the rider and passenger. Several options, such as customizable seats and comfortable handlebars, allow ergonomic adjustments to suit each user. The standard full LED lighting, complemented by an adaptive headlight option, ensures optimal visibility, even in curves.

The new electrified luggage system enhances practicality for long journeys. The saddlebags and top case, equipped with USB-C ports and interior lighting, blend seamlessly into the design. Security features include an active cruise control and warning systems for frontal and rear collisions.

Four versions are available: Racing Blue, Triple Black, Performance in Solid Lightwhite, and Option 719 Cuyamaca in Brooklyn Grey metallic. The R 1300 RS embodies BMW’s RS model heritage, combining technical innovation, dynamism, and comfort.
