DS No.8 France

Unveiled at the end of 2024, the DS No.8 is now available for order in France and positions itself in the Premium market segment.

With its record-breaking range of 750 km thanks to a 98 kWh battery, this Premium sedan respects the prices announced by DS and reveals several advantages over competitors. The updated configurator this morning shows that the DS No.8 starts at 59,200.00 euros for a range of 571 km according to the WLTP cycle, powered by a 73 kWh battery. To reach 750 km, the larger capacity battery must be chosen, starting at 63,300.00 euros. The all-wheel-drive version, offering 350 hp and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 5.4 seconds, peaks at 74,600.00 euros.

The DS No.8 shares its technical platform with the Peugeot E-3008, which results in a considerable weight. However, the sedan features a significantly more refined aerodynamics than the Normandy lion cabinet. This work on the design allows the DS No.8 to deliver optimized performance and range, positioning it well in its segment.

The range is divided into two trims: Pallas and Étoile. The Pallas version includes 19-inch wheels, a 16-inch central screen, and adaptive cruise control. The Étoile trim, the only one offering the All-Wheel Drive version, adds Alcantara, head-up display, and matrix headlights. Too bad only five generally dull colors are available. For the elegant two-tone gold version shown in the presentation, you’ll have to wait a bit and of course pay a lot more!

Compared to its direct German competitors, the DS No.8 remains competitive in terms of price and range. But one can’t help but feel it lacks a little soul, especially when seen in a plain paint finish, without its gala dresses. Ordinary? Disappointing? Too timid? Too French? A bit of all that.
