BYD speeds up and leaves Tesla behind
Launched on February 10 in China, the God’s Eye system is presented as the Chinese automotive industry’s answer to Tesla’s FSD technology. It comes in three versions: God’s Eye C, an entry-level solution without LIDAR, God’s Eye B which integrates a LIDAR, and God’s Eye A which uses up to three LIDARs. This laser environmental modeling system is in complete opposition to Tesla’s choices, which rely solely on the use of cameras. It is too early to declare a winner, but the integration of Chinese artificial intelligence DeepSeek with LIDAR technology seems to be exceeding all expectations.
The Yangwang U9 is equipped with the God’s Eye A, the most advanced in the range. BYD promises to equip 21 models from its catalog for free, including those from its premium and sports brands Denza and Yangwang.
