Will Teslas Be Smarter Tomorrow Morning?

Elon Musk is set to unveil today Grok 3, the latest AI chatbot from his startup xAI.

Presented as “the smartest AI on Earth”, Grok 3 promises to redefine AI standards and take Tesla to a new leap forward. The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter), where Musk shared his enthusiasm for this new technological breakthrough. A live demonstration is scheduled for this Monday evening at 8 p.m. Pacific Time, or Tuesday at 4 a.m. in France.

Grok 3 was developed using synthetic data, an approach which, according to Musk, grants the chatbot advanced reasoning capabilities. During a video conference at the Global Government Summit in Dubai, he stated: “Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning abilities. In our tests, it surpasses everything published to date, to our knowledge.”

The AI Race Heats Up

This announcement comes amid increased competition in the AI sector, with major players like OpenAI, co-founded by Musk in 2015 with Sam Altman, and the latest Chinese entrant DeepSeek. Musk left OpenAI in 2018 and has since expressed concerns about the organization’s direction, notably its shift toward a profit-oriented model. Last week, he even proposed a $97.4 billion offer to acquire OpenAI’s assets, which was rejected by CEO Sam Altman.

Alongside the development of Grok 3, xAI is in talks to raise $10 billion, which would value the company at about $75 billion. These funds would be used to expand data centers and improve AI model training.

The integration of Grok 3 into Tesla vehicles is logically envisioned, potentially transforming these cars into intelligent assistants capable of understanding and responding to drivers’ voice commands. This feature would enhance user experience by enabling more natural interaction with the vehicle. As the world eagerly awaits the Grok 3 demonstration, experts are questioning how this new AI will position itself relative to current market leaders. If Musk’s claims prove true, Grok 3 could mark a significant milestone in AI evolution and redefine our daily interactions with technology.
