Toyota Aygo X

With the new Toyota Aygo X hybrid, the Japanese manufacturer offers a compact city car that is finally electrified. And that changes everything!

Toyota introduces a self-recharging hybrid powertrain on its smallest city car, the New Aygo X, a first in the A segment. This new model combines compactness, energy efficiency, and driving pleasure. The Aygo X adopts a hybrid powertrain derived from the Yaris and Yaris Cross, replacing the previous 1.0-liter gasoline engine. This technology allows it to achieve a power output of 116 horsepower, which is an increase of 44 hp, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 10 seconds.

Despite the integration of hybrid components, the interior space remains unchanged thanks to an optimized architecture: the batteries are placed under the rear seats in a longitudinal position. The trunk volume is maintained at 231 liters.

The hybrid powertrain allows the Aygo X to reduce its CO₂ emissions to 86 g/km (WLTP), placing it among the most economical vehicles in its category. It is therefore perfectly suited for urban use while still capable of ensuring longer journeys under good conditions. This especially ensures access to low-traffic zones that will replace the defunct ZFE, and it exempts it from the Malus tax.

The handling benefits from a turning radius of 4.7 meters, a lowered center of gravity, and a rigid body structure, ensuring agility and stability. Comfort is enhanced thanks to better sound insulation, including new insulating materials and, on higher trims, thicker windows.

Revamped design and Toyota GR SPORT version

The exterior design has been modernized, featuring a redesigned grille, a new hood, and new bi-tone colors. A canvas roof is offered as an option. The interior includes a 7-inch digital display, two USB-C ports, and an electric parking brake.

A GR SPORT trim level makes its debut, featuring a style inspired by motorsport that includes specific wheels, adjusted suspension, exclusive visual elements, and more dynamic road behavior.

Toyota announces an 18% reduction in the carbon footprint over the entire lifecycle of the vehicle thanks to the use of recycled materials, SakuraTouch® coating, and production powered by renewable energies in the Czech Republic.

In exchange for this major technological leap, the price of the New Aygo X hybrid will exceed 20,000 euros, a high positioning for a city car in this segment. The launch is expected at the end of 2025 in Europe.
