Nissan unveils the new electric LEAF, a stylishly modern SUV that is more powerful and efficient.
Nissan has released new photos of its upcoming electric LEAF, which will make its official global debut by the end of the month. This popular model with a lovely legacy completely changes its style: farewell to the small sedan, and hello to the elegant and family-friendly crossover.

The third generation of the LEAF adopts a modern look and focuses on aerodynamics to improve its efficiency. It becomes a softly designed SUV, with more space for passengers and luggage. It boasts an excellent Cx of 0.25 compared to 0.28 for the old model. This means it consumes less energy to move forward, which is the simplest and most reasonable way to enhance its range. Keeping the weight down is also a great way to gain mileage per charge, but Nissan has yet to communicate on this crucial point.
Among the new features are integrated door handles, an active grille that opens and closes automatically, a panoramic glass roof, and a well-designed undercarriage to better channel the air. Every detail has been thought out to improve efficiency.
More range and faster charging
The LEAF is built on the CMF-EV platform, the same as the Ariya electric SUV. Nissan has not yet disclosed all the details about the battery but promises significantly better range than the old model.

According to Nobutaka Tase, Design Director for the LEAF program, this new iteration could reach up to 600 km of range in the WLTP cycle compared to just 341 km for the current model, thanks to the aerodynamic work done by the design office.
This new model will be officially presented by the end of the month. In the meantime, we invite you to form your own opinion based on the photos and videos provided by the manufacturer.
