You can now watch CANAL+ in your MINI and BMW

Since the motorist is a TV lover like the others, BMW and MINI are making their cinema with the arrival of the CANAL+ Application on board.

On board your BMW or MINI, you will now be able to channel surf like in your living room. BMW Group announces the upcoming integration of the CANAL+ application in its compatible models. A novelty that transforms the cabin into a true entertainment room.

Thanks to the BMW Operating System 9, available on the latest generation models such as the BMW Series 1, X1, iX2, or even the MINI Cooper and Countryman, passengers and possibly drivers, but only when stopped, will have access to the entire CANAL+ offering: movies, series, documentaries, live shows, replays, and VOD. Over 2,000 channels and content at your fingertips. Of course, this is contingent on having an active subscription to CANAL+ and a BMW Digital Premium package or MINI Connected Package.

Designed for breaks, charging times, or waiting moments at destinations, this integration illustrates the manufacturers’ commitment to making time spent in the car a pleasant experience, rather than just a simple transition from point A to point B. It is a way of saying that the automobile is no longer just for transport. It entertains, informs, and offers a different kind of travel experience.

On the technical side, everything runs through the SIM card integrated into the vehicle, which provides unlimited data access. A smooth connectivity experience, without having to juggle a smartphone, cable, or unstable Wi-Fi connection.

Initially launched in France, Switzerland, and Poland, this novelty marks an additional step in the digital transformation of vehicles. And in this race for the user experience, the German group is playing a new smart ace, by partnering with a content giant like CANAL+. As for the latter, a new source of subscribers is always welcome.
