This hybrid Corvette has 1250 hp and all-wheel drive

With the Corvette ZR1X, Chevrolet marks the most extreme version ever produced of its iconic sports car.

This monstrous Corvette combines the hybrid technology of the E-Ray and the LT7 twin-turbo V8 from the ZR1 to deliver a total of 1250 horsepower. The result of this extreme combination is an all-wheel-drive Corvette, capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds and covering the quarter-mile in under 9 seconds.

While purists may grumble, the ZR1X embodies a bold turning point in Corvette’s history. Beneath its sculpted exterior, it combines the impressive 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 (1064 hp) with an optimized front electric motor borrowed from the E-Ray. The 1.9 kWh battery retains its capacity but now delivers an increased power output thanks to a higher voltage. The front e-motor reaches 186 hp and 145 Nm and remains active up to 257 km/h.

Beyond straight-line brutality, the ZR1X also focuses on agility. The eAWD system has been completely revamped, allowing the car to simultaneously endure 1 g of longitudinal and lateral acceleration. To harness this power, Chevrolet introduces a “push-to-pass” button on the steering wheel, unleashing all the power in Performance mode.

Safety is not overlooked: a new braking system called J59 helps tame the beast. It includes 16.5-inch carbon-ceramic discs with 10-piston Alcon calipers at the front. Chevrolet claims 1.9 g of deceleration from 290 to 193 km/h.

In terms of configuration, the ZR1X will be able to receive the ZTK package (hardened suspensions, Michelin Cup 2R tires, carbon aero kit). The interior remains close to other C8 models, featuring three digital screens including a 14-inch instrument panel.

Sales are expected to begin by the end of 2025. While the price is not yet official, it is likely to exceed $250,000 comfortably. A high price, certainly, but still far from that of European and Chinese hypercars that the ZR1X aims to challenge in terms of performance. As for its arrival in Europe, it will logically depend on sales figures in the land of Uncle Sam.
