The Kia EV9 is getting a boost

Kia injects a dose of sportiness into its large electric SUV with the launch of the pumped-up version, the EV9 GT.

This high-performance version of the Kia EV9 delivers 508 hp thanks to two electric motors and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. A true feat for a seven-seat family SUV.

Beyond the numbers, Kia has refined everything: adaptive suspension, electronic differential, road preview system… everything is designed to combine dynamism, comfort, and safety. A dedicated GT button allows full power to be unleashed in the blink of an eye, while the paddle shifters and the virtual gear selector VGS simulate the sensations of a DCT gearbox. All accompanied by an artificial engine sound for those who enjoy auditory thrills.

In terms of appearance, the EV9 GT stands out without being ostentatious: digital grille with dynamic patterns, exclusive 21-inch wheels, Neon Green brake calipers, and GT logo, all within an interior ambiance combining Alcantara, bio-sourced materials, and colorful inserts. The semi-bucket seats and specific steering wheel complete the package.

Kia is not just focusing on aesthetics

Inside, the triple panoramic screen features unique graphics, and the vehicle benefits from Kia’s latest connected functionalities, including OTA updates, customizable lighting, and remote features via the Kia Connect app. Passenger space is not compromised: seven seats, a high driving position, towing capacity of up to 2,500 kg, and always a range exceeding 500 km.

Of course, this optimization at all levels comes at a price, and it’s not cheap at €97,100! For those looking for a more accessible EV9, Kia also introduces the Air trim, equipped with a 76.1 kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of 443 km and priced starting at €64,400.

In both GT and Air versions, the EV9 proves that an electric SUV can be intelligent, generous, and muscular. Kia showcases its expertise… in high-fashion jogging.
