Tesla Welcomes Grok: What Does It Change?

His name is Grok, speaks like a human (or almost), and promises to transform the way we interact with our Tesla.

Already familiar to X users, the chatbot Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s startup xAI, is set to leave social media to integrate into the Tesla car cabin. Visible in recent glimpses of the interface, Grok is expected to be activated soon through a software update, likely version 2025.24.

Unlike the current voice system of Teslas, often deemed rigid and limited, Grok promises a much more natural interaction. This new voice assistant is capable of understanding everyday language, whether written or spoken, and appears in the corner of the central screen, ready to respond to the driver’s commands smoothly.

And what if Grok replaced touch controls?

But Grok does not simply execute orders. It offers a range of voices (Ara, Rex, Gork) and personalities suitable for various uses such as practical assistant, meditation guide, language teacher, or even storyteller for children during long trips. The more curious can even try out more playful or quirky modes, such as “Romantic” or “Grok Classic,” with a sharper tone.

Beneath its gadget-like appearance, Grok is actually deeply integrated into Tesla’s software architecture. It will gradually replace traditional controls to adjust mirrors, launch a playlist, adjust the temperature, or plan a route, simply by voice. The goal is to humanize the driving experience and tailor it to each user’s preferences.

However, it is important to note that a Premium subscription or a Wi-Fi connection will be required, and one must link their xAI account via a QR code. A new way to capture customers at the expense of ChatGPT…

For now, there’s no need to monitor download bars. Grok is already there, silent but ready to activate at any moment on a simple command from its direction. The question remains whether this chatty companion will become essential… or just another passenger.
