Volkswagen Lowers ID.4 Price to Unprecedented Level

With a discount of 8900 euros plus a minimum new CEE bonus of 3100 euros, the Volkswagen ID.4 slashes its price.

The electric vehicle sector has entered a turbulent phase in recent months. The reduction or even elimination of environmental bonuses in Europe has put a brake on sales. And without “respiratory assistance,” the electric patient relapses.

A new demonstration is found in the current offer – until July 31, 2025 – from Volkswagen on its electric SUV ID.4 in Pure Life trim. Equipped with the “small” 52 kWh battery, which is more than sufficient for 80% of needs – and 100% for daily use (362 km of mixed cycle range) – and boasting 125 kW of power (170 horsepower), its price is slashed by 8900 euros through a large discount.

Cash price at 28,400 euros!

Volkswagen takes the high assumption of a CEE bonus (replacing the ecological bonus) of 4200 euros to show a final price of 28,400 euros. This 4200 euros is given to anyone whose reference income is below 26,200 euros. Beyond that, this assistance drops to 3100 euros, resulting in a still very attractive final price of 29,500 euros.

Less than 30,000 euros for a family SUV as comprehensive as the Volkswagen ID.4, a rival to the Renault Scenic E-Tech, Skoda Enyaq (which shares its platform), is frankly unbeatable. In fact, it’s unprecedented!

And if you do not wish to purchase your electric car, the long-term rental offer (LLD) is equally appealing. After an initial payment of 5000 euros in the case of a CEE bonus of 4200 euros, or 6100 euros in the case of a CEE bonus of 3100 euros, the next 36 payments will only be 169 euros. Thus, over the duration of the loan and for 30,000 kilometers, the total price will range from 11,084 to 12,184 euros. That’s less than the depreciation of the car… so you’ll save money by not buying it. Ironically.

A very reasonable charging speed

The main advantage of this ID.4 with a small battery lies in its charging speed, which is far from being ridiculous. With 11 kW on alternating current, it only takes 5 hours and 30 minutes to go from 0 to 100%… which is something no one ever does. And on direct current, the peak rises to 145 kW. Getting from 10% to 80% at a highway rest area will take 25 minutes to recharge for 200 km. Admittedly, stops will be frequent, but we’re talking about a few trips in a year. What’s the point of having a heavy and expensive battery the rest of the time?
