The Skoda Elroq has never been so cheap!
This page is translated from the original post "Le Skoda Elroq n’a jamais été si peu cher !" in French.
With the discount from Skoda and the new CEE bonus, the electric compact SUV Elroq hits an unprecedented price level.
Currently, it is difficult to find a compact, electric SUV that is well-equipped and has a list price below 30,000 euros. In this case, with a customer discount of 4,000 euros, the Skoda Elroq drops from 33,300 to 29,300 euros.
On top of that, you still need to subtract the new CEE bonus of at least 3,100 euros. This can, depending on your income, increase to over 4,200 euros. Thus, the base price of the Skoda Elroq now starts at 25,100 euros.

A low-cost Skoda?

The most surprising part of the story is that we are not talking about a Chinese SUV with relative equipment and finish. This is a vehicle that meets the manufacturing standards of the Volkswagen group, characterized by practical German engineering.
In other words, there may be funkier or more efficient options than the Skoda Elroq, but the seriousness is reassuring, especially for a daily-use product. With its generous 55 kWh battery, it is better equipped than a similarly priced Renault 5 that only has the smaller 40 kWh battery.
Performance is also reflected in the technical capabilities: mechanical power of 125 kW (170 horsepower), 310 Nm of torque, and impressive charging speeds for the category.
Indeed, on alternating current, it offers 11 kW right away, and up to 145 kW on a fast charging station.

The Elroq, an ultra-rational electric car?
The range of 374 km in the mixed WLTP cycle is very useful for 90% of daily needs, and the ability to charge from 10 to 80% in 20 minutes is quite valuable for the rare long trips in the year (let’s be honest).
To put the Skoda Elroq in context, the Czech electric SUV is thus 10,000 euros cheaper than the Peugeot E-2008. The French model is considerably less appealing with 320 km of range, charging capped at 7.4 and 100 kW respectively, and a power output of 156 horsepower.
In the end, there is no comparison, yet Skoda is fully embracing the commercial struggle.
