Covering 900 km at an average speed below urban speed limits must have been a real ordeal for the unfortunate drivers who literally crawled to capture every kilometer of range. The route primarily used small country roads, with some sections of fast road. Equipped with standard 20-inch Michelin Sport 4 EV tires, the vehicle achieved an impressive average consumption of 12.1 kWh/100 km (5.13 miles/kWh), allowing it to exceed its announced WLTP range of 706 km. While these drivers were trained to maximize efficiency, they did not resort to unrealistic tricks, only exhibiting exemplary regular driving, where an average driver would normally drive at a normal pace without much thought to consumption.
The drivers took turns every three hours to stay alert, and the SUV achieved its WLTP range with still 20% energy remaining, before pushing to zero to maximize distance.

In the end, we prefer to note that with a fast charge of up to 250 kW (10-80% in 30 minutes), the Polestar 3 shows that… range is no longer a major constraint. Quite tasty, isn’t it? This record, obtained at a very cautious pace, proves that with a minimum of attention, a production electric vehicle can cover distances formerly reserved for internal combustion cars.
