Leapmotor B05

Leapmotor has unveiled the B05, its new compact electric coupe, at the IAA Mobility 2025 show in Munich.

This model marks an important milestone in Leapmotor’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the European compact electric vehicle market and compete with models like the Volkswagen ID.3, the Renault Mégane E-Tech, and the Peugeot e-308.

The B05 features a sporty coupe design, inspired by Leapmotor’s “Tech-Nature” aesthetic. Its silhouette combines clean lines with muscular shapes, featuring frameless doors and 19-inch alloy wheels, emphasizing its dynamic character.

Its dimensions are 4,430 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,520 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, providing a spacious cabin while maintaining maneuverability suitable for urban driving. The width of 1,880 mm contributes to a confident stance on the road.

The B05 is built on the LEAP 3.5 platform, an advanced 800 V architecture that allows for fast charging and increased energy efficiency. It is powered by a 215 hp (160 kW) electric motor and 240 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 8 seconds.

Two battery options are available: 56.2 kWh for a range of 360 km and 67.1 kWh for 445 km, according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. The B05 supports fast charging up to 168 kW, allowing for a charge from 30 to 80% in about 20 minutes.

Leapmotor wants the European label

Leapmotor plans to produce the B05 starting in the third quarter of 2026 at its factory in Zaragoza, Spain. Marketing in Europe will also begin in 2026, with deliveries to the UK expected in the second half of the year. With an estimated price of under £30,000, the B05 positions itself as an affordable and modern alternative in the compact electric vehicle segment.
