Polestar 6

The Polestar Roadster concept made a stop in Zurich at the end of the year. An opportunity for the brand to confirm its arrival in 2026.

During the event, focus was not only on the unique lines of the Roadster and its initial technical specifications, but also on a certain vision of sustainable mobility. Polestar’s developers are pursuing this goal in several ways simultaneously.

Sky blue, sporty, and undeniably futuristic, the Polestar Roadster definitely attracts attention. But it’s not just about appearance in this approach. Indeed, to get closer to the goal of a CO2-neutral vehicle, Polestar is seeking innovative links between technology, design, and driving enjoyment.

One of the features of the Polestar 6 lies in its bodywork. Its main material, like many automotive parts, is aluminum. As is known, this can already be recycled today, in theory. The problem lies in the different levels of purity used within the same parts. To improve the separation process, Polestar will mark all aluminum parts separately in the future, making them recyclable.

The recycling of plastics is also a key concern. For example, a car seat today is made from a variety of materials. These are held together by countless different glues. It is therefore practically impossible to disassemble a car seat and make it recyclable. This is where the concept of so-called monomaterials comes into play: surfaces, interiors, and the glue must all be made from the same material. New fibers are used for this purpose. Consequently, the seat can be recycled much more easily in its entirety by melting it down.

While these virtuous initiatives are commendable, ultimately there will be a woman or a man behind the wheel that must be satisfied. Looking at the specifications, one can be reassured. 650 kW, or 884 horsepower, will catapult the Roadster to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with an autonomy of up to 600 kilometers.

The first 500 units of this model are expected to be delivered in 2026.
