Karma Kaveya, an electric bomb of 1200 horsepower
This page is translated from the original post "Karma Kaveya, une bombe électrique de 1200 chevaux" in French.

Under a good Karma, a new sporty coupe has just been unveiled across the Atlantic with a prestigious heritage, but is that enough?
Born in 2008, the Fisker brand made its name with an exceptional hybrid coupe with an extended-range system, the Karma. A model that probably appeared too early and failed to find its audience, leading to the company’s bankruptcy in 2013 and its subsequent takeover by a Chinese group under the Karma brand. Henrik Fisker took this opportunity to retain rights to his name and has been revitalizing his brand in recent years with more success and a flagship model, the Ocean.

Karma is back in the spotlight today with the Kaveya. The name comes from a modified version of the Sanskrit word, “Kavya,” meaning “poetry in motion.” The additional “E” is Karma’s way of claiming it and signifies that this is an all-electric vehicle. There is another meaning to the word that could also suit Karma: learning by building on past mistakes.
Just like the Revero and the upcoming fully electric Gyesera, the Karma Kaveya will be manufactured not far from Karma Automotive’s headquarters in Irvine, California, in Moreno Valley. This means that, although funded by the Chinese group Wanxiang, the Kaveya is a vehicle designed and built in the United States.
Similar to the Revero and the Gyesera, the Kaveya uses a T-shaped battery. Most of the pack is located under the central console and extends to the sides just behind the seats. The battery capacity is 120 kWh and supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 45 minutes. It is estimated that this pack allows the Kaveya to travel more than 250 miles (400 km) on a single charge.

Now let’s talk about performance. Thanks to a very low center of gravity inherent to electric architecture, this large GT coupe promises a lively and sporty handling despite its substantial dimensions. Like many high-performance electric cars, the Karma Kaveya features all-wheel drive producing 1,180 horsepower when the motors are combined. This power is sufficient to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. There is also a propulsion version with 536 horsepower in the pipeline, which could even be the first to market by the fourth quarter of 2025, before the all-wheel drive version arrives a year later.
